Getting started
What is LexiFont?
LexiFont is a Chrome extension that replaces the fonts on every web page with a dyslexia-friendly font of your choice. It also adds a moving reading ruler, a tinted overlay for Irlen syndrome / visual stress, and fine-grained control over font size, letter spacing, word spacing and line height.
Which browsers does LexiFont support?
LexiFont works on all Chromium-based browsers that support Manifest V3: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi and Opera. It does not currently support Safari or Firefox.
How do I install LexiFont?
Go to the Chrome Web Store listing and click "Add to Chrome". After install, pin the LexiFont icon to your toolbar so you can toggle it on/off with one click or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+L.
Fonts
What is the best dyslexia font for reading on the web?
There is no single "best" font — different readers respond to different shapes. LexiFont gives you four research-informed choices so you can test which one feels most natural for you. A good rule of thumb:
- OpenDyslexic — heavy bottom weights anchor letters, great if you rotate or flip characters.
- Lexend — generous spacing and even rhythm, often the fastest to read out loud.
- Atkinson Hyperlegible — maximizes distinction between similar letters (a/o, I/l/1).
- Comic Neue — informal, open letterforms; popular with children.
Why does the font on some sites not change?
A few sites use icon fonts (Font Awesome, Material Icons) to draw buttons. LexiFont skips these so icons don't break. On very rare sites that use a canvas-rendered editor (Figma, some rich-text tools), the browser's CSS cannot reach the text — this is a browser limitation, not a LexiFont limitation.
Pricing & license
Is it really a one-time payment?
Yes. $14.99 once, lifetime access. No subscription, no auto-renewal.
How many devices can I use my Pro license on?
Up to 5 Chrome installations per license. You can deactivate a device from Settings at any time to free up a slot.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — a 14-day no-questions-asked refund policy via Lemon Squeezy. Email hello@lexifont.com.
Privacy
Does LexiFont track my browsing?
No. Zero tracking, zero analytics inside the extension. Your settings are stored in chrome.storage.sync on your own Google account, not on our servers. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
Do you have access to my license key?
Our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy, holds the canonical record of your license key (for support and reissue purposes). We verify activation via their API, but we do not store the key on our own servers separately.
Troubleshooting
The font changed, but the site still looks weird.
Reduce the "Font size" slider to 1.0× first, then try a different font. Some sites use very tight layouts that overflow when the font is replaced — in that case, reduce letter/word spacing to 0 or disable LexiFont on that site using the per-site toggle.
My license isn't activating.
Make sure you're pasting the full 16-character key including dashes: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. If you've hit the 5-device limit, deactivate one from Settings and try again. Still stuck? Email hello@lexifont.com with your purchase email and we'll sort it within 24 hours.
I'm offline — does Pro still work?
Yes. LexiFont Pro has a 30-day offline grace period: after successful activation, features keep working even without internet, as long as you reconnect within 30 days for a re-check.
