Privacy Policy

The short version

LexiFont is a local Chrome extension. It runs entirely in your browser. We don't track your browsing, we don't send page content anywhere, and we don't sell any data. The only network request LexiFont ever makes is to verify a Pro license key against our payment provider.

What we don't do

• We do not collect your browsing history.
• We do not read or transmit the content of web pages you visit.
• We do not use analytics or tracking scripts inside the extension.
• We do not sell, rent, share or trade any user data.
• We do not place cookies in your browser from the extension itself.

What we do

1. Store your settings locally

Your LexiFont preferences (selected font, font size, line height, ruler options, overlay color, per-site rules) are stored in chrome.storage.sync. This data lives in your own Google account and is never sent to LexiFont's servers. If you disable Chrome sync, it stays only on the current device.

2. Verify your Pro license

If you activate LexiFont Pro, we send your license key to our payment processor Lemon Squeezy to verify that the license is valid. The only data sent is: the license key, an anonymous device instance ID, and the request timestamp. We do not send your IP to our own servers — it is handled by Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record.

License verification happens at activation, then roughly once per day to re-check validity. If you are offline, LexiFont keeps working in Pro mode for up to 30 days using the last-known valid state.

3. Process payments (optional)

If you choose to purchase LexiFont Pro, the checkout and payment are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy. We receive only: your email address (for license delivery and support), the fact that a payment was made, and the license key issued. We do not receive or store your full credit card details, ever.

What is stored on your device

• Settings (chrome.storage.sync): font choice, sliders, ruler and overlay preferences, per-site rules.
• License state (chrome.storage.local): your license key, install date, trial-start timestamp, last validation timestamp, activation status.

You can wipe all of this by removing the extension, or reset just the preferences via Settings → "Reset settings".

Data retention

Because we don't collect personal data server-side (beyond the license record at Lemon Squeezy), there is no retention schedule that applies to us. Lemon Squeezy's retention policy applies to your purchase record.

Children's privacy

LexiFont is designed for readers of all ages, including children with dyslexia. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from users under 13. The extension does not request, transmit, or store any personally identifying information about its users.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we don't hold personal data in our own systems beyond your email and license record at Lemon Squeezy, any GDPR/CCPA request (access, deletion, portability, objection) can be handled by emailing hello@lexifont.com. We respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what data the extension handles, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated in the extension's update changelog too.
